MD Pleasure Objects
MD Pleasure Objects
Throughout my medical career in Obstetrics and Gynecology, patients have emotionally expressed concerns about their sexual health and well-being. They have recounted how perceived problems with sexual desire and arousal have adversely affected their personal lives. Though some medications and serious physical illnesses result in decreased sexual desire and arousal, most cases have no identified cause. For most women psychotherapy and sex therapy are cost prohibitive or avoided due to the persisting stigma of these therapies.
Many women are unaware of or hesitant to embrace sexual healthcare products that can improve sexual desire and arousal. Women are embarrassed to enter sex shops or afraid to order products via the Internet. Some women are fearful of partner disapproval.
To address these concerns I thought my private medical office could offer women a comfortable and reassuring place to discover, examine and purchase these products. After
thoroughly reviewing companies and products I found LELO, a Swedish company, produces
“pleasure objects” unsurpassed in aesthetic design and functionality. I decided to offer their full line of products in my medical office. The response of patients, their partners and others has been overwhelmingly positive and enthusiastic.
My entire professional life has been devoted to women’s health. A women’s sexual
health plays a very important role. A gynecologist’s office is an ideal place for women to find
these products and their presence may help some women overcome inhibitions to their use.
Products may be examined and purchased in my office during regular office hours without appointment and are not exclusive to patients. Men are welcome. Products may also be ordered by phone for office pick-up.
My female staff give private instruction on the use of the objects, offer advice and
answer questions at no cost.
For comprehensive information about decreased sexual desire and arousal I highly recommend “ Reclaiming Your Sexual Self “ by Kathryn Hall, Ph.D.
